The 1734 Legacy Society

The 1734 Legacy Society was established in 2018 to provide the means to establish a multi-million-dollar endowment through contributions to three of Silver Spring’s permanent funds, providing the means for anyone to leave a financial legacy to the church without setting up a legal entity. 



The three funds of the 1734 Legacy Society are: The Fund for the Living Word and The Buildings and Grounds Fund, both administered by The Foundation for Enhancing Communities in Harrisburg; and The Heritage Fund, administered by the Presbyterian Foundation. 

As endowment funds, these funds are intended to provide enduring annual distributions of income to the church to supplement the annual giving to support components of the ministry at SSPC without ever consuming the principal balance in the fund.

To contribute now to the 1734 Society Funds, or to designate a bequest from your will to the funds, please select the appropriate form in the box on the right or contact the Business Manager at the church office (DianeR@silverspring.org). Contributions or bequests of at least $1734 to a Society Fund will be permanently recognized.
