DEACON MINISTRY
Deacons at Silver Spring Presbyterian Church minister to those who are in need, the sick, the friendless and any who are in distress.
We have 21 Deacons serving in various care groups in order to meet the needs of our congregation and others in the community around us.
Our Deacons visit the homebound and act as mentors to new members. Several times each year, they undertake special ministries such as creating and delivering Thanksgiving baskets to needy families, operating the Christmas Angel Tree project to provide gifts to underprivileged children, creating and delivering college and military care packages to our members and delivering holiday gifts to our homebound members.
In addition, the Deacons sponsor the Stephen Ministry, Friendly Visitor Program, Prayer Chain and Prayer Shawl Ministries, and the Health Ministries Program.
