Give
"Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received." I Peter 4:10
We give of our income...
Members of Silver Spring are asked to give of their income to support the work of the church through its annual operating budget. These gifts are vital to our church's everyday ministry and programs. But more is asked and more is being done.
And, we give of our assets.
This congregation has a long history of "extra mile" gifts to meet specific immediate needs, from both members and friends of the church. Whenever a need becomes apparent, there is often someone that comes forward to meet it. There is also a need, however, for the church to manage its future and for the members to be good stewards of all of their resources. The church should plan for its future and its members should plan for theirs.
Christ told us to give all that we have. Like the gifts of those who have gone before us, what remains after we are gone is also vital. In years past, the generosity of others has provided the foundation for us to build on Christ's ministry. Their legacy of worship and education space as well as program and ministry, is the foundation we build upon. Recognizing this, we strive to also give of our accumulated assets as a springboard for others.
How can we give to our future?
The Silver Spring Fund was established as a convenient vehicle for making legacy gifts that will provide for that future. With the assistance of the Presbyterian Foundation, the Silver Spring Fund provides a secure future ministry here by James Silver's spring.
