Salutations! My name is Austin Shoop, and it is my pleasure to be Silver Spring Presbyterian's new Youth Director! I grew up in Wernersville, PA, attending First Presbyterian Church in Reading, PA. After moving to Mechanicsburg in 2011, My family and I started attending Silver Spring Presbyterian. My family became members in 2012, I was confirmed the next year and became a member of Silver Spring in 2013. The following year I began attending Core Youth Group. During my tenure attending Core, I served as a youth deacon, went on mission trips locally and beyond, led interactive lessons, and made lifelong friends. Youth Group has always had a special place in my heart, and to have this honor of leading the youth as SSPC’s new Youth Director is one of the greatest opportunities I've had thus far in my life. I graduated from Lock Haven University in 2021 with my Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. Since graduating, I have been in search of God's purpose for my life. I have worked as a correctional officer at Dauphin County Prison, a maintenance supervisor at Rabbit Transit Capitol Region, a Sales Consultant at Hondru Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, and currently a Quality Professional at Flagger Force. I've gained many skills in my professional career, skills I plan to use as Youth Director here at SSPC.
In my free time, I stay active at the gym, spend time with my family and friends, and spend time with my amazing girlfriend Destiny. I'm also addicted to playing pickleball with the Pickle Posse on Sundays.
Galatians 2:20 "I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."
