Worship Services

Worship is central to our life as Christians. Each Sunday morning we come together with joy, reverence and awe to praise God and listen for God's word to us.  Our worship services are designed to help us feel God's presence and to send us out into the world to share God's love by serving God with our hands and hearts.  Eucharist is celebrated in our Traditional service on the first Sunday of the month.

Here at Silver Spring, we offer two worship services every Sunday morning, each with a distinct flavor and style. There is a Traditional service held at 9:00 a.m. in the Meeting House. This is a more formal service with familar hymns and choral anthems, a traditional sermon, and responsive liturgy.

A distinctly different service called The Gathering at Silver Spring is held at 10:45 a.m. in the Gym. This is an informal service with contemporary praise music and an interactive sermon using visual imagery.  Eucharist is celebrated in the Gatheirng on the third Sunday of the month.

Worship times are as follows:

    9:00 - 9:50 a.m.             Traditional Worship Service (Meeting House)
   10:00 - 10:45 a.m.         Christian Education - all ages
10:45 - 11:45 a.m.         The Gathering at Silver Spring (Gym)

In all services, the reading, singing and proclamation of God's Word is central to our worship.  Everything we do – music, prayers, readings and sermons – is offered in response to God's love for us, and to inspire us to share that love with others, especially those whom Jesus called the least.

Music is very important to our worship here at SSPC.  Our sanctuary choir, bell choir, children's choirs and our Prasie Band are some of the most inspiring around.  Many of our members find great joy in using their musical gifts to praise God. Special musical events are also presented throughout the year, using a mixture of professional and volunteer musicians.
