Worship is central to the life of every Christian. It is when we come together as the family of God to recognize each other and our God, to listen for God's word to us and then walk out again into the world to continue our worship in the service of loving God with our lives.
Here at Silver Spring, we offer two distinctly different worship services every Sunday morning. The first service is our Traditional service held at 9:00 a.m. in the Meeting House. This is a more formal service with framilar hymns and choral anthems, a traditional sermon, and responsive liturgy. Our second service is called The Gathering at Silver Spring. The Gathering is held at 11:15 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall/Gym. This is a more informal service with contemporary music, a more discussion style sermon, and a participation-based response time.
Beginning December 1, there will be a worship schedule change:
8:00 - 8:50 a.m. Traditional Service
9:00 - 9:50 a.m. The Gathering at Silver Spring
10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Youth and Adult Christian Education
11:15 - 12:15 p.m. 2nd Traditional Service
In all services, the reading and hearing of Gods Word is central to our worship. Everything that we do–music, prayers, the sermons–are offeredso that we can open our ears and our hearts to what God is saying to us.
Music is very important to us, and our choirs and musicians work diligently to assist in leading us through songs and hymns so that the focus remains on praising God. In addition, special music is presented throughout the year.
