Getting Around the Campus
Silver Spring is blessed with a beautiful campus which allows people of all ages and abilities to access our facilities. Our main worship services are held in the Meiting House built in 1784; this two story stone structure is connected to the other building by a covered walkway. The main building with the glass windows next to the Meiting House holds all of our other indoor facilities. It is here that you will find our office, just through the main doors and to the left.
As you enter the main building, you walk into the Gathering Place, a spot for refreshments and conversation on Sunday mornings. The first floor of this building also houses our Chapel, Meditation Chapel, gym, parlor, library, health ministries office, choir room and several adult Sunday school/meeting rooms. The ground floor of this building is home to the Silver Spring Presbyterian Church Preschool which on Sundays serves as classrooms for the nursery, children’s Sunday school and Sr. Highs.
The church also houses three kitchens and multiple bath and shower facilities to accommodate visiting mission groups and to allow us to serve as an emergency shelter.
There are two main parking lots at Silver Spring and a circular drive which takes you completely around the grounds. The main entrance off Silver Spring Road brings you to the upper lot which is the best access into the Meiting House and Gathering Place and includes handicap parking. The lower lot is behind these buildings and allows easy access to all points within the church buildings.
Our grounds also include the original Silver Spring, a cemetery dating back to the Revolutionary War, multiple gardens, a playground, a large meadow which includes a fire pit, a Manse and a detached storage garage.
