Sunday Afternoon Vesper Concerts in the Meeting House

Come hear beautiful Christmas music and worship together these dates:

  • December 4 at 2 pm:  Voices of the Valley
  • December 11 at 3 pm: St. Thomas Dulcimer Society - followed by our famous Advent Feast and Festival (see more below)
  • December 18 at 3 pm:  Cedar Cliff Chamber Choir

After each concert, please join us for refreshments (or the Advent Feast on Dec. 11!).

Angel Tree Gifts

Each year colored angel tags are chosen off the Angel Tree and gifts are bought to help children in our local community who are less fortunate.  Please return your gifts to the church BEFORE December 11.

Christmas Cantata - Sunday, December 11, one service at 11:00 am in the Meeting House

This is always a special Sunday of beautiful music performed by our Sanctuary Choir, under the direction of Dr. Kyle Weary.  Following the Cantata, join us for refreshments in the Gathering Place.

Advent Feast and Festival Ham Dinner - Sunday, December 11, approximately 4:30 pm in the Gym

Following the Advent concert at 3 pm, we will meet in the gym for our Advent Feast and Festival, starting with a family Advent craft and then dinner. There will be Christmas music and carol singing also!

For dinner, the Christian Education Committee will provide the ham.  Attendees are asked to bring a side dish to feed approximately 10 people - those whose last name begins with the letter A to M, bring a savory dish or salad; those whose last name begins with the letter N to Z, bring a dessert.

There is no cost for this dinner, but donations will be greatly appreciated!  Please sign up in advance or email Scott Pepperman at puppytrainer52@aol.com.  Reservations are needed by December 5th.

Blue Christmas Service - Thursday, December 15, 7:00 pm in the Meeting House

While many of us are looking forward to Christmas with great anticipation, for some of us the holidays are a time of intensified grief. This service is for anyone who seeks hope and comfort amidst the hustle and bustle of the holidays.

Christmas Joy 2022 2The Christmas Joy Offering will be collected on Christmas Eve.  Donations can also be mailed to the church or hand delivered to the church office. The Christmas Joy Offering supports equally the Assistance Program of the Board of Pensions and Presbyterian-related schools and colleges equipping communities of colors — to lift up past, present, and future church leaders.

The Assistance Program is the Board of Pensions’ longstanding ministry of caring for those who serve the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and restoring shalom. Through it, the Board offers grants to support active and retired church workers during times of financial need. Each year, the Assistance Program provides more than 1,000 grants for a total of more than $5 million.

We know that the only perfect gift ever given was the one we received in Jesus Christ — a perfect gift from a gracious God. Although we cannot give the perfect gift, we can give generously, knowing, as the New Testament letter of James says, "Every generous act of giving … is from above." To give to the Christmas Joy Offering, you may visit the Presbyterian Mission website. You can also use the envelopes that will be on the tables in the Gathering Place. Thank you for supporting our church leaders who nurture our relationship with our good and gracious God.
