New Members Class

New Member Class

Have you been thinking about membership at SSPC, or wondering what kind of commitments that might involve?  Then join Senior Pastor Don Wahlig for this fast-paced, informal and interactive class.

What will we cover? The class begins with brief introductions and then moves on to explore what we mean by confessing “Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior.”  From there, we move on to a brief history of the development of the church.   We begin with the 16th century Reformation and the emergence of Presbyterianism as it moved from Geneva to Scotland and on to the United States.

After a break, we will talk about SSPC and our rich history.  We will cover how we are organized and how decisions are made, and the many ministries that emerge as we try to make Jesus Christ Lord of our lives.

We will conclude with a review of the expectations of membership.  For those who are ready to do so, there will be an opportunity to join the congregation, though there is no pressure or obligation to do so.

The class will be held in the Parlor (accessed through the semi-circular glass space we call the Gathering Place).  It begins at 9 am and will end not later than 11:30 am.  A light breakfast will be served. If you would like to reserve a spot in this class or simply have questions, please contact Don at

Hope to see you there!
